After graduating from Texas Tech University with a degree in Landscape Architecture, Charlie Ammann pursued his dream to work in the hunting industry full time. With over 13 years now under his belt, Charlie has hunted all over North America, Africa, Australia, Mexico, Argentina and British Columbia. Charlie prides himself on his hunting knowledge and commitment to customer service.
The Picosa Paloma is located outside of Floresville Texas and just a short 30 minute drive to San Antonio. The Picosa Paloma is managed by Charlie and his team, with a combined 21 years in the outdoors and hunting industry. The Picosa name comes from the homestead Ranch of Statesman John Connally, Charlie’s grandfather. He served as Governor of Texas, Secretary of the Navy and Secretary of the Treasury. Charlie is keeping the name alive through their own hunting operation Picosa Paloma.
Dr. Keys is a an avid bow hunter, competitive archer, and practicing dentist. He graduated from LSUDS in 1996 and worked as an associate dentist in Shreveport, La until opening his private practice in 1999. It was a deep passion for the outdoors which led him to move his practice to the Texas Hill Country in 2012. He is now the Owner Dentist of Westpointe Modern Dentistry and Orthodontics in New Braunfels, Texas, which is supported by Pacific Dental Services.
While in Louisiana, Dr. Keys was a member of the Ark-La-Tex Academy of General Dentistry where he was introduced to many of today’s leaders in Continuing Dental Education. His involvement in the Ark-La-Tex Academy of General Dentistry was the beginning of a life long journey in Dental Continuing Education. To date, Dr. Keys has completed over 3000 hours of continuing education in the areas of Surgical Placement and Restoration of Dental Implants, Comprehensive-Interdisciplinary Diagnosis and Treatment Planning, Cosmetic Rehabilitation, Dental Occlusion and TMJ Therapy, Treatment of Worn Dentition, Bone Grafting and Ridge Augmentation as well as many hours devoted to Practice Management.
Dr. Keys has studied under many of Dentistry’s leading clinicians including, Frank Spear, John Kois, Mike Abernathy, Michael Schuster, Henry Nichols, Ken Hebel, and many others. Dr. Keys has served as an Advisory Board Member for River Cities Study Club, a Seattle Study Club, from 2004-2010, A Spear Study Club Leader from 2010-2012 and is a current faculty member of the PDS Institute, where he teaches courses on Simple Surgical and Bone Grafting Techniques for the General Dentist and Co-Diagnosis and Comprehensive Treatment Planning. He is also a current member of the Spear Faculty Club, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentist, Academy of General Dentistry, ICOI.
In addition to his love for hunting and dentistry, Dr. Keys is a full time dad to three beautiful daughters.
